Important Message by Indian Railways to their Vendors
Indian Railway continuously endeavours to bring in transparency, efficiency and ease of doing business in all its procurement activities. Indian Railways has taken one more step in this direction.
Vendors approved by Railways for supply of safety and critical items, through any of its nominated vendor approving agencies, shall now be treated as approved vendors for all Railway Units, for that item. This decision is expected to increase the competition in public procurement and make it more efficient, while also significantly reducing time and effort of vendors in approaching multiple vendor approving agencies for participating in tenders. This shall also promote better utilisation of manufacturing capacity of Industry in India, helping the cause of "Make in India."
